Douglas R. Gellerman, M.D.
Dr. Gellerman graduated from Penn State University and then became Pennsylvania's youngest medical doctor ever when he finished his doctorate at Jefferson Medical College at the age of 21. Dr. Gellerman interned in surgery at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He completed his Ophthalmology training at New York Medical College where he was honored as Chief Resident. Fellowship training in anterior segment eye surgery at the Long Beach Eye Institute brought Dr. Gellerman to California where he has been in private practice since 1981.
Dr. Gellerman was Chairman of Ophthalmology for the Friendly Hills and Mullikan Medical Groups, large group practices responsible for over 300,000 patients. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Gellerman is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has a special interest in cataract surgery, glaucoma and anterior segment disease.
